The Australian Water Partnership (AWP) is funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and managed by the eWater Group. AWP is looking for a keen self-starter to play a key role in the busy Program Team, which looks after AWP program of activities across the Pacific, Southeast Asia and South Asia. This role, being dependent on funding, is for a fixed term to 30 June 2026.The AWP is a cross-disciplinary team based in Canberra working to solve some of the big challenges in water and climate across our region. Icon Agency (ICON) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Employment Support Officer to help deliver the Falepili Mobility Pathway Support Service, a key initiative supporting Tuvaluans migrate to Australia under the Pathway created as part of the Australia-Tuvalu Falepili Union Treaty. The 'Pacific Engagement Visa - Treaty stream' offers Tuvaluan nationals the opportunity to live, work, and settle in Australia.
The Employment Support Officer plays a vital role in assisting Tuvaluan visa applicants engaging with the voluntary employment service, to build the skills, confidence, and support networks needed to secure and maintain employment in Australia. The officer provides culturally tailored one-on-one and group support, helping applicants overcome barriers such as language, digital literacy, or unfamiliarity with the Australian job market.
This role is part of a dedicated project team and works closely with our employment partner Asuria, and the broader PEV consortium. It ensures that the employment support provided aligns with the unique cultural, language, and access needs of the Tuvaluan community and reflects best-practice models for preparing individuals with barriers for employment.
The role location is flexible/remote and can be Australia or Pacific-based. The role is contract, Part-Time, 0.4FTE or approximately 15 hours per week - seeking applicants who can start immediately for the duration of the contract to 31st December 2025 (with possibility of extension, subject to DFAT approval).
