About Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program
The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme is a signature initiative for the Australian Government that enables workers from 9 Pacific Island Countries (PICs) and Timor- Leste to work in priority sectors in Australia. The Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program’s (PLMSP) role is to provide the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and governments in 9 PICs and Timor-Leste with support to enable workers to access PALM scheme in inclusive ways that maximise the benefits for the workers and national economies while minimising risks from labour mobility participation. Palladium is contracted to deliver PLMSP on behalf of DFAT.

The GBV Coordinator will be responsible for implementing activities in line with the Preventing and Responding to Gender Based Violence in the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme design.

Background
Solomon Islands-Australia Partnership’s Strongim Bisnis is economic development initiative to increase economic opportunities and participation for people and businesses in Solomon Islands.
Recognising that Solomon Islands has a small consumer market and economy, dispersed population, and high cost of doing business, we identify and analyse specific sectors that have a high potential for growth and can consequently create new employment and income generation opportunities.
We facilitate strategic partners (including businesses, government, civil society, and associations) in those sectors to address the root constraints to growth and inclusion (Women, Youth and People living with disabilities) through innovative solutions.
Position summary and justification for the role
Strongim Bisnis is seeking Partnership Managers of all levels of experience to expand its team. We are looking for people with experience or enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and social inclusion in Solomon Islands.
Working closely with the team, the selected individuals’ focus will be to support the program implement, monitor, and communicate uptake of partnerships.
Duties and responsibilities
- Apply an entrepreneurial approach to identify constraints and opportunities for economic growth and inclusion, particularly for women, youth, and people with disabilities.
- Proactively identify, negotiate, and cultivate partnerships with entrepreneurs, companies, business associations, and the public sector to foster innovation and inclusive growth, aligning with the Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) strategy and Strongim Bisnis principles.
- Establish and manage relationships with partners, including performing due diligence, partnership agreements, monitoring performance against agreed deliverables and standards, and ensuring adherence to Strongim Bisnis and ASI policies and procedures.
- Monitor the delivery of initiatives against agreed deliverables, work plans, and budgets. Manage suppliers for the delivery of initiatives, including procurement in line with Strongim Bisnis and ASI guidelines. Manage invoicing related to initiatives, ensuring expenditure aligns with approved budgets, costs are verified, and all associated paperwork is prepared for submission to finance for processing. Monitor and escalate risks as appropriate to Senior Management.
- Conduct research to produce high-quality reports that inform the program's strategic direction, considering the political, socio-cultural, and business environments of Solomon Islands.
- Support Partnership Managers/Interns in various tasks, including partnership agreement management, partner relationship management, and issue resolution.
- Ensure cross-cutting issues like Safeguarding, including PSEAH, Environment, Indigenous Engagement, and GEDSI are integrated into partnership work.
- Collaborate with the Monitoring and Results Measurement (MRM) Manager to develop activity trackers, results chains, and measurement plans for each activity.
- Travel as required to gain a deep understanding of target sectors, engage with existing or potential partners, and verify the achievement of objectives.
- Contribute to communication materials that translate research and learning into shareable lessons.
- Contribute to wider program deliverables, including regular planning, forecasting, and reporting requirements.
- Act as a professional and discreet representative of Strongim Bisnis in interactions with the team, partners, and the public.
