The Role
The Skills Adviser Capability Assessment will play a key role in strengthening Tuvalu’s skills and training sector. The position is responsible for evaluating the current skills and knowledge of educational training providers, establishing a baseline to guide targeted development efforts. Working closely with the Country Lead, the adviser will support the facilitation of workshops and training, identify priority areas for capacity building in training delivery and assessment, and collaborate with stakeholders to address their specific training needs.
Roles and Responsibilities

Conduct a capability assessment of trainers utilizing various methods to evaluate skills and capabilities

Ability to provide expert advice on skills development and workforce planning

Identify areas for capacity building and professional development
-
Assess the ability to provide strategic advice and guidance to stakeholders
-
Identify skill gaps, analyze organizational skills to pinpoint areas of improvement
-
Developing strategies such as creating plans to address skill gaps and enhance overall capability
-
Monitor progress by tracking the effectiveness of skills development initiatives
-
Attend relevant industry meetings representing Pacific Australia Skills

Other tasks and duties as required to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of Pacific Australia Skills in Tuvalu
Selection Criteria
Essential Experience and Knowledge
-
Relevant industry experience with experience in skills assessment and development
-
Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills
-
A bachelor’s degree/master’s in education, Human Resource or other related discipline
-
Certificate International Skills Training
-
Understanding of and commitment to Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), Child Protection, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH), prevention of human trafficking, environmental protection, anti-corruption and other DFAT safeguarding policies
