SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT

The DFAT-funded Knowledge Partnership Platform (KONEKSI) is Australia’s flagship program in the Indonesia knowledge and innovation sector. KONEKSI’s goal is to achieve an enduring relationship between Indonesia and Australia that advances mutual interest and supports Indonesia’s inclusive and sustainable development. The purpose of the program is to increase the use of knowledge-based solutions for inclusive and sustainable policies and technologies. This purpose positions KONEKSI as a vehicle to produce knowledge on complex socio-economic problems, where effective solutions are often beyond a unique sector or category of stakeholders. It will support both the knowledge to policy cycle (K2P) and the knowledge to innovation cycle (K2I), in a complementary and synergistic way. KONEKSI will focus on two End of Investment Outcomes (EOIOs): 

  1. Australian and Indonesian organisations have increased collaboration and mutual understanding through knowledge partnerships; and 

  2. Innovative solutions for inclusive and sustainable policies and technologies are generated by knowledge partnerships.

 

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION

To ensure the success of the sharing and dissemination of knowledge, KONEKSI is seeking a Knowledge Exchange Specialist to facilitate the sharing and dissemination of knowledge, particularly through the Connect Series.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop and execute the KONEKSI Connect Series, ensuring each event is strategically aligned with KONEKSI’s objectives.
  • Draft and finalise Terms of Reference (ToR) for each Connect Series event: 
    • Identify relevant themes for each Connect Series event, drawing from KONEKSI-supported research, emerging issues, and stakeholder priorities.
    • Identify and engage appropriate spokespersons, contributors, and organisations to collaborate with KONEKSI for each event.
  • Build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including researchers, government representatives, private sector actors, and NGOs, to foster partnerships.
  • In collaboration with the Event Specialist, oversee all aspects of event execution, including setup, registration, coordination of speakers or presenters, and on-site problem-solving.
  • Document key outcomes from each event, including participant feedback and actionable recommendations.
  • In collaboration with Planning, Performance, and Learning unit, utilising KONEKSI Management Information System to support the knowledge exchange efforts. 

Deliverables 

Deliverables include the following:

  • A well-structured KONEKSI Connect Series calendar with clearly defined themes and objectives for each event.
  • Comprehensive Terms of Reference (ToR) for each Connect Series event.
  • Successfully executed Connect Series events, with active participation.
  • Event reports capturing insights, feedback, and recommendations.
  • Improved stakeholder relationships and a network of collaborators for future initiatives.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: 

  • Master’s degree in social sciences, international relations, development, or relevant field with minimum experience of 5 years, or
  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, international relations, development, or relevant fields with minimum experience of 10 years

Essential Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in planning and organising events, particularly those involving knowledge exchange or stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong organisational, project management, and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting formal documents such as ToRs.
  • Proven ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including government, private sector, and civil society.
  • Familiarity with themes related to research, policy, and innovation.
  • Creativity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience in international development.
  • Understanding of KONEKSI’s focus areas, including gender, disability, and social inclusion (GEDSI).
  • Experience working with multi-sectoral contributors and spokespersons.
  • Proficiency in online event platforms and digital collaboration tools.

Language Proficiency:

  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia
