The Australian Government's Economic and Social Infrastructure Program (ESIP) works with partners to deliver economic and social infrastructure that benefits Papua New Guineans. ESIP works across sectors such as energy, telecommunications, health and markets, and supports Papua New Guinea's state-owned enterprise improvement program.

Role Purpose

The Senior HSSE Manager will lead the HSSE function for ESIP, managing HSSE risks at the Program level and developing the HSSE team. This role will ensure compliance with DT Global and PNG HSSE regulations and support the Infrastructure Project Teams in their HSSE strategies. In addition, the incumbent will collaborate with DT Global HSE personnel, and Security Focal Points, and work closely with the Senior Coordinator Safeguards and the Climate Change and Resilience Manager.

About You

Key selection criteria for the potential successful candidate includes, but not limited to:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Safety and Health (OHS), Security, Environmental Science, or a related field are preferred
  • At least 15 years of management experience in a large development program is required
  • Extensive knowledge of HSSE laws and regulations for construction projects, including PNG laws and Australia’s Work Health and Safety Act, is essential
  • Strong understanding of relevant ISO standards and experience in managing and auditing health and safety management systems according to ISO 45001.
