About TSSP Phase 3
The PNG–Australia Transport Sector Support Program Phase 3 (TSSP3) is a critical, high-priority Australian investment that stands to make a major contribution to PNG development outcomes.
Working closely with the Government of PNG (GoPNG), TSSP3 will build on the significant body of achievements, lessons, and relationships from the past 17 years of operation and will continue to contribute to the achievement of the overarching goal of:
'A more effective, efficient, and inclusive transport system, enabling the economic and social development of PNG.'
Gender Equity, Disability Equity, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) and Social and Environmental Safeguards, Locally Led Development (LLD), Climate Change and Disaster Resilience (CCDR) and Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, Learning and Adapting (MERLA) are a key focus for the program and are integrated into all of TSSP3's activities and operations.
This phase of TSSP3 will run from November 2023 to November 2028.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Operations Director, the Senior Manager for Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) will take charge of leading and providing proactive support for the HSE division within TSSP3. The Senior HSE Manager bears the responsibility for effectively managing risk assessments related to HSE, as well as enhancing the capacity of the team. This role will also ensure compliance with HSE laws and regulations set forth by DT Global and those specific to PNG. In addition, the Senior HSE Manager will maintain communication with other HSE personnel at DT Global and collaborate closely with the Safeguards Manager and their team.
Selection Criteria:
To be successful for this role, you must possess the following including, but not limited to:
-Tertiary qualifications in science (Health Safety and Environment) (HSE) or a related discipline
-A minimum of 15 years of practical and demonstrated experience in a similar HSE Management role working for a large
development program
-Extensive experience in safety management standards and risk assessments of work on construction projects
-Significant demonstrated experience in managing and resolving high level safety incidents and reporting
-Comprehensive understanding and application of ISO45001 standards
-Experience in leading or managing a small team
-Previous experience working in PNG (highly regarded)
-Knowledge and / or experience of applying GEDSI and safeguards principles
