The opportunity

Australia Awards Philippines

The Australia Awards Philippines (AAP) supports the selection, mobilisation and re-integration of Filipino Australia Award recipients. The investment will also support short courses, fellowships and learning visits, and facilitate ongoing engagement between Australia and Australian-educated Filipino alumni. AAP will strengthen bilateral cooperation by fostering people-to-people and institutional links between Australia and the Philippines.

Description

The role

The Scholarship and Alumni Engagement Manager leads the delivery of scholarships, alumni engagement, and learning initiatives for Australia Awards Philippines. Working closely with DFAT and key stakeholders, the role drives program outcomes, strengthens partnerships, and leads a high-performing team.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic and operational delivery of scholarship and alumni engagement activities.
  • Manage the end-to-end Australia Awards scholarship cycle and associated learning opportunities.
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with DFAT, government agencies, education institutions, alumni, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic advice, reporting, and recommendations to support program delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and support a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
  • Contribute to communications, public diplomacy, events, and broader program initiatives.

Selection criteria

  • Relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex programs, preferably within international development, education, or donor-funded environments.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with government, institutional, and other stakeholder groups.
  • Experience leading teams and delivering high-quality program outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear strategic advice.
  • Experience with scholarship programs, alumni engagement, or learning and capacity development initiatives is highly regarded.
