About Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program     

The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme is a signature initiative for the Australian Government that enables workers from 9 Pacific Island Countries (PICs) and Timor- Leste to work in priority sectors in Australia. The Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program’s (PLMSP) role is to provide the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and governments in 9 PICs and Timor-Leste with support to enable workers to access PALM scheme in inclusive ways that maximise the benefits for the workers and national economies while minimising risks from labour mobility participation. Palladium is contracted to deliver PLMSP on behalf of DFAT.  

This Opportunity  

The Operations Officer will be responsible for providing operational, administrative, and logistical support to the project operations team and project staff.

This role is for Parental Leave Cover in the Brisbane office to April 2026.

Description

The Operations Officer will be responsible for:  

·       Support the management of the Brisbane office, including asset management and managing PLMSP stock of stationery and materials.

·       Support the preparation of Purchase Orders, Tasking Orders and maintain and monitor internal procurement tracking documents.

·       Support accurate and efficient management of files, records, contacts database.

·       Support the administration team in the efficient management of the office, including logistics for meetings and events.

·       Support the PLMSP travel team on requests and inquiries, and travel tracking.

·       General administrative support.

·       Understand how innovation and technology shape the way we work and introduce new ways of working through AI, data and technology.

We are seeking an individual who:  

·       Experience in logistics, procurement and administration, especially in support function of large scale of organisation.

·       Proven track record in office management systems and procedures.

·       Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively in teams and with clients.

·       Ability to use technology effectively to support the operations of a large program or organisation.

·       High level proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web browsers

·       Good interpersonal skills, including in a cross-cultural context.

·       Highly developed organisational skills, agility and the ability to balance and prioritise multiple tasks, and work well under pressure;

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills;
