Organisation: DT Global, implementing the Australia–PNG Law and Justice Partnership (APLJ)

Location:         Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea (with travel to other locations)

Duration:         2 years (possibility of extension)

About the Program


The Australia–PNG Law and Justice Partnership (APLJ) is a transformative program dedicated to strengthening Papua New Guinea's law and justice sector. By focusing on community safety, access to justice, and effective service delivery, APLJ aims to create a more just and equitable society for all Papua New Guineans. The program emphasises gender equality, disability equity, and social inclusion, working to address gender-based violence and empower marginalised groups. Through collaboration with key stakeholders and a robust monitoring and evaluation framework, APLJ is driving positive change and fostering lasting impact in Papua New Guinea.
 

The Role


The role encompasses overseeing the financial and operational aspects of the program. This includes managing budgets, ensuring compliance, and leading various teams such as finance, security, HR, IT, and logistics. The Director will play a key part in strategic planning, reporting, and fostering collaboration both within the program and with external stakeholders. They will also champion gender equity, disability, and social inclusion throughout the program's operations.

About You


To be successful in the role you will need the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (Law, Management, Business, Finance, etc.).
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in PNG.
  • Demonstrated understanding of GEDSI, GBV, FSV, and SARV issues in the PNG context.
  • Experience managing and strengthening the capabilities of community-based organisations and program personnel.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience working with MERL systems and using evidence for adaptive management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
