Description

Program Overview:   

FPSP, also referred to as the ‘Platform’, a Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) investment, will contribute to the delivery of Fiji’s national development priorities, in line with the Australia’s International Development Policy, the Fiji-Australia Vuvale Partnership and the Development Partnership Plan. 

The Platform will deliver key bilateral programs, such as health, education, scholarships, social infrastructure, governance, climate and emergency preparedness and response. Platform activities will identify and address climate risks, promote climate action, and gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) across and beyond the sector programs.

The Platform has three functional Outcomes: 

  1. The Platform has delivered its sector program outcomes, including through supporting strategic coherence, planning, partnerships management, data and learning across the portfolio of investments.
  2. The Platform has prioritised gender equality, disability-inclusive development, and climate and disaster resilience, in its systems and practices. This includes in how it undertakes sector programming and its engagement with selected Government of Fiji (GoF) agencies.
  3. The Platform administers timely and efficient programming that is: value for money; maximises use of local supply chains; and supports good governance, and public diplomacy, effective decision making and risk management.  
     

Position Summary:    

The Multimedia Communications Officer will support the full FPSP portfolio by producing high-quality multimedia content, including graphics, photography, videography, and video editing.  

The successful candidate will be energetic, highly organised and have a keen eye for compelling, culturally appropriate storytelling and the ability to translate complex development work into engaging visual content.  

This is a great early career role for someone to help capture and tell the stories of FPSP.  

Key Responsibilities:

Digital Content Creation & Visual Storytelling

  • Design and develop visual content such as infographics, social media assets, brochures, reports, and presentations using Adobe Creative Suite or other appropriate software.
  • Capture high-quality photography and videography at events, field visits, and stakeholder engagements across FPSP programs.
  • Edit and produce engaging videos for social media, events, and public diplomacy initiatives, ensuring consistency with FPSP messaging and DFAT branding.

Communications Support & Strategy

  • Contribute to the implementation of FPSP’s Communications and Public Diplomacy Strategy by producing creative digital outputs.
  • Support the execution of public diplomacy activities, events, and media engagement with timely production of photo and video content.
  • Maintain a media and content archive, ensuring proper tagging, storage, and usage rights of all digital assets.

General

  • Participate in internal communications initiatives, team learning sessions, and Communities of Practice to strengthen communications capacity across FPSP.
  • Undertake other communications-related duties as required by the Communications & PD Manager.

Key Deliverables: 

  • Design engaging infographics, social media graphics, brochures, reports, and presentations aligned with FPSP and DFAT branding.
  • Capture and curate high-resolution images and video footage from FPSP activities and events to highlight impact and engagement.
  • Produce professionally edited videos, including short-form content optimized for digital and social media use.
  • Develop creative visual content to support strategic campaigns, events, and public diplomacy activities aligned with FPSP’s communications strategy.
  • Deliver timely photo, video, and graphic materials for FPSP-supported events and public diplomacy initiatives.
  • Maintain an organized, up-to-date archive of multimedia content with proper tagging and permissions, in line with storage protocols.
  • Contribute to internal learning and knowledge management activities to strengthen digital communications across the team.
  • Provide additional digital content and support as needed, under the direction of the Communications & Public Diplomacy Manager.

Selection Criteria:

  • Relevant qualifications in Communications, Multimedia Production, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Must demonstrate initiative, creativity, adaptability, and willingness to work effectively in cross-cultural high-performing team-based environment.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience in multimedia communications, visual storytelling, or digital content production; ideally within the international development or public sector context.
  • Experience creating content for a range of platforms, including social media, websites, and public diplomacy campaigns.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro is desirable.
  • Experience in drone operation or willingness to learn.
