In addition, the Head of Partnerships is responsible for developing new initiatives to further advance KONEKSI’s partnership work and continually strengthen and build new relationships. SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT
The DFAT-funded Knowledge Partnership Program (KONEKSI) is Australia’s flagship program in the Indonesia knowledge and innovation sector. KONEKSI’s goal is to achieve an enduring relationship between Indonesia and Australia that advances mutual interest and supports Indonesia’s inclusive and sustainable development. The purpose of the programme is to increase the use of knowledge-based solutions for inclusive and sustainable policies and technologies. KONEKSI has the following two End of Investment Outcomes (EOIOs):

  • Australian and Indonesian organisations have increased collaboration and mutual understanding through knowledge partnerships; and
  • Innovative solutions for inclusive and sustainable policies and technologies are generated by knowledge partnerships.

 
SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
The Head of Partnerships will lead the partnerships outreach and programming for the KONEKSI program. In collaboration with relevant experts, they will lead the partnerships team in designing and implementing collaborative research grants and provision of technical assistance to a range of knowledge partnerships. In addition, the Head of Partnerships is responsible for developing new initiatives to further advance KONEKSI’s partnership work and continually strengthen and build new relationships. This position is open to Indonesians and International experts.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provide leadership and direction for KONEKSI partnerships outreach and programming including building a partnerships network, designing and implementing collaborative research grants, and delivery of high-quality technical assistance to knowledge partnerships
  • In collaboration with experts and in cooperation with the KONEKSI senior leadership team promote KONEKSI knowledge partnerships, GEDSI generated knowledge, and impact of collaborative research on inclusive development
  • Contribute to planning, monitoring, evaluation, and learning, and adaptation of partnership approach and portfolio to increase responsiveness to stakeholder needs and increase potential for impact
  • Supervise and manage the partnership team, ensure all team members have the opportunity to contribute to and provide feedback on the work of the partnership team
  • Work closely with the GEDSI Adviser to support implementation of the KONEKSI GEDSI strategy and effective analyse, respond, and program effectively related to gender equality, disability, and social inclusion separately, as well as intersectionality throughout the partnerships approach and work
  • Support the preparation of workplans and progress reports, as well as any other ad hoc reports requested and ensure deliverables are submitted on time and meet DFAT and Cowater’s reporting standards.
  • Be responsive to DFAT’s requests and delegate them to relevant team members, as needed ensuring the Team Leader and DFAT have relevant, timely, evidence-based and quality inputs for reports, briefs, and plans.
  • Ensure program implementation applies DFAT safeguards (particularly in relation to child protection and the environment), and due diligence.

 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:

  • Advanced degree in relevant discipline

Qualification:

  • 10-15 years’ experience working in senior level positions in complex work environments
  • Experience in translating intersectional GEDSI approaches to knowledge partnerships
  • Extensive understanding of research landscape and academic entities including demonstrated networks within the research and innovation community in Australia and Indonesia
  • Understanding of Australian and Indonesian academic standards, grants guidelines, and compliance with Australian and Indonesian regulations
  • Demonstrated experience working with a range of stakeholders including academia, government, and civil society
  • Ability to design and develop new initiatives in collaboration with a range of experts, including projects that require joint funding arrangements with more than one government entity
  • Deep understanding of collaborative research partnerships
  • Ability and experience working in a cross-cultural environment
  • Strong leadership capabilities including interpersonal and communication skills and sophisticated emotional intelligence
  • Commitment to working as a team and team goals
  • Ability to effectively manage internal and external relationships with empathy, insight, and humility, including with stakeholders in Indonesia and Australia
  • Ability to work strategically and effectively in a high pace environment

 Language Proficiency:

  • Proficient in both English and Bahasa Indonesia
