SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT
The Australia-Indonesia Partnership Towards an Inclusive Society, or INKLUSI, is working to increase the participation of marginalised groups in, and their benefit from, Indonesia’s socio-cultural, economic and political development. INKLUSI works with government and civil society partners to advance their work in gender equality, the rights of persons with disabilities and social inclusion. INKLUSI supports the Government of Indonesia’s agenda for inclusion, including through national development plans and the Sustainable Development Goals. INKLUSI is an 8-year (2021-2029) bilateral Australian and Indonesian Government program with a budget of up to AUD 120 million. It is partnering with 11 Indonesian civil society organisations, 8 research partner institutions and their networks across 32 provinces, >120 district/cities, >800 villages in Indonesia.


SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
The Head of Partnerships and Policy will work closely with the Team Leader to provide day-to-day management and leadership to the partnership coordination team and technical and policy secretariat of INKLUSI. They will work alongside the Head of Operations and Grants to ensure that the INKLUSI principles are upheld throughout the partnerships and support activities of the Program and will engage with relevant experts as required, ensuring GEDSI and civil society strengthening issues are well addressed. This position is open to Indonesians and international candidates with professional working proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia and English.

 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide oversight to the management and implementation of INKLUSI partnerships including coordination of high-quality technical inputs, research, and analysis to CSO partners, as well as cross- learning amongst partnerships. 
  • Provide day to day management of the partnerships team and ensure integration of the partnerships and coalitions work. 
  • Synthesis and quality assurance of policy briefs and materials for a variety of audiences. 
  • Lead responsive policy coordination within the INKLUSI Secretariat. 
  • Identification of strategic opportunities and partnerships to support the achievement of program objectives and adaptation. 
  • Support the Team Leader in the preparation of workplans and progress reports, as well as any other ad hoc reports requested and ensure deliverables are submitted on time and meet DFAT and Cowater’s reporting standards. 
  • Be responsive to DFAT’s requests and delegate them to relevant team members, as needed ensuring the Team Leader and DFAT have relevant, timely, evidence-based and quality inputs for reports, briefs, and plans. 
  • Support the Team Leader in monitoring and managing risks associated with key stakeholder relationships and networks.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • A postgraduate qualification (or other relevant qualification and substantial professional experience) in management, international development, GEDSI, social sciences or a related discipline.

Minimum Experience:

  • 10+ years’ experience working on large donor funded programs with increasing leadership and management responsibilities,
  • Program management experience, specifically in aid policy, grant management, MEL, capacity building and change management
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of GEDSI policy, advocacy and practice.
  • Previous experience working with DFAT and a sound knowledge of DFAT’s reporting and performance management processes.
  • Experience living and working in Indonesia

 

Essential Skills:

  • Professional proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia 
  • Experience working with CSO’s, senior government officials, managing complex relationships and community partnerships

     

Language Proficiency: Bahasa Indonesia, English
