About Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program     

The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme is a signature initiative for the Australian Government that enables workers from 9 Pacific Island Countries (PICs) and Timor- Leste to work in priority sectors in Australia. The Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program’s (PLMSP) role is to provide the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and governments in 9 PICs and Timor-Leste with support to enable workers to access PALM scheme in inclusive ways that maximise the benefits for the workers and national economies while minimising risks from labour mobility participation. Palladium is contracted to deliver PLMSP on behalf of DFAT.

This Opportunity  

This is a fixed term opportunity required to the end of June 2026

The Family Accompaniment Coordinator Fiji will be responsible for working very closely with National Employment Centre (NEC) Management and Staff, the PLF Engagement Manager, and the PLF Family Accompaniment Project Manager to support the mobilisation of Fiji families selected to participate in the PALM scheme Family Accompaniment pilot. External stakeholder engagement is a large component of this role.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for families participating in the Family Accompaniment pilot, providing clear information, guidance and expectation‑setting throughout mobilisation.
  • Manage, coordinate and monitor family visa applications, ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate and submitted to employers and authorities on time.
  • Work closely with workers, families and key stakeholders (panel doctors, Fiji Police, Immigration, etc.) to ensure visa documentation and requirements are processed efficiently.
  • Enter and maintain accurate family data in the In‑Country Recruitment Database, tracking each family’s journey through the pilot.
  • Support delivery of culturally appropriate pre‑departure, demobilisation and reintegration briefings in collaboration with the Family Accompaniment team.
  • Provide guidance to families on travel logistics, documentation requirements and practical arrangements for departure and arrival.
  • Deliver in‑country support for demobilisation and reintegration, including assisting returning families with first‑month reintegration goals and linking them to relevant services.
  • Prepare and submit mobilisation, demobilisation and progress reports to key stakeholders, and participate in planning, learning and coordination meetings.
     

We are seeking an individual who:  

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including excellent English and fluency in iTaukei and/or Fijian Hindi.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships across diverse stakeholders, countries and time zones.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and web‑based platforms.
  • Experience working directly with people in a supportive, calm and professional manner.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion and respectful engagement in cross‑cultural contexts.
  • Tertiary qualification in human resource management, social services or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Prior experience living or working in Australia (advantageous but not essential).
