Summary

Join Abt and our partners in advancing inclusive development across Fiji.  We’re currently recruiting for live and upcoming GEDSI Specialist roles across the Fiji Program Support Platform. These positions will contribute to key sector programs including health, education, governance, and climate resilience, working alongside some of the most talented professionals in the field

Immediate Opportunity: 

  • Senior GEDSI Coordinator, to join the Australia-Fiji Governance Partnership (AFGP). We currently have one vacancy to commence January 2026. The main role of the position is to support the implementation of the AFGP GEDSI Strategy and Action Plan. The Senior GEDSI Coordinator will contribute to the implementation, monitoring and reporting of GEDSI objectives as well as provide advice and support to strengthen integration of GEDSI analysis and practices across AFGP program.

Future GEDSI Opportunities

  • Long-term GEDSI Specialist supporting climate and disaster resilience activities.
  • Building talent pools across the Platform for short-term or long-term opportunities as they arise. 

These roles will contribute to GEDSI integration across program design, implementation, and learning, in line with DFAT’s standards and FPSP’s commitment to inclusive development

Program Overview

FPSP, a Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) investment, contributes to Fiji’s national development priorities in line with Australia’s International Development Policy, the Fiji-Australia Vuvale Partnership, and the Development Partnership Plan.
Platform activities promote climate action and GEDSI across and beyond sector programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement GEDSI strategies aligned with DFAT standards
  • Support program teams and partners in inclusive policy design, implementation, and monitoring
  • Facilitate learning processes and contribute to program reviews
  • Promote integration of GEDSI and climate resilience in all program activities
  • Collaborate with cross-cutting teams to advance inclusive development across the Platform

Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Gender Studies, Social Science, Development, Law, or related disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience in GEDSI programming within development or public sector contexts
  • Familiarity with DFAT GEDSI standards and inclusive development frameworks
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including OPDs, WROs, CSOs, and government partners
  • Strong grounding in inclusive policy reform, adaptive programming, and community engagement
  • Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to produce high-quality reports and briefs
  • Prior experience working in the Pacific region or similar development contexts
  • Sound working knowledge of aid and development management systems and practices
