Australia Awards are prestigious scholarships offered by the Australian Government to support long-term development outcomes in partner countries. The Australia Awards Philippines (AAP) program supports the delivery of scholarships, short courses, fellowships, and alumni engagement initiatives to strengthen leadership, skills, and people-to-people links between Australia and the Philippines. 

About the Opportunity

Abt Global is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Panel Rapporteur to support the Australia Awards Philippines scholarship interview process.

The Panel Rapporteur plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, transparent, and consistent documentation of panel discussions and candidate assessments throughout the interview and selection process. This includes detailed note-taking, recording panel deliberations, consolidating scores and feedback, and supporting panel consensus-building.

This short-term role will support interviews in Manila (6–17 July 2026) and Davao (27–31 July 2026), with travel required for the Davao sessions.

 

Key Responsibilities

During Interviews – Documentation and Panel Support

The Panel Rapporteur will:

  • Attend all scheduled interviews in Manila and Davao. 
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of panel discussions, including candidate strengths, weaknesses, and panel observations. 
  • Capture and consolidate panel ratings, comments, and comparisons across candidates. 
  • Facilitate efficient interview room processes and support panel coordination. 
  • Distribute and collect interview score sheets daily. 
  • Ensure all documentation and materials are securely handled and stored. 
  • Support panel discussions and assist in reaching consensus decisions. 

     

 

Post-Interview - Moderation and Reporting

 

The Panel Rapporteur will:

  • Support moderation discussions and final candidate ranking processes. 
  • Ensure all scores, notes, and rankings are accurately documented and consolidated.
  • Prepare clear summaries of panel discussions and outcomes. 
  • Circulate post-interview feedback surveys and compile results. 

 

Key Deliverables

  • Complete and accurate interview notes and panel documentation
  • Consolidated scoring sheets and candidate comparisons
  • Final summaries of panel discussions and outcomes
  • Post-interview survey analysis and reporting

 

Key Working Relationships

  • Reporting to: Senior Program Officer (Scholarships) 
  • Internal: Australia Awards Philippines, Australian Embassy in the Philippines
  • External: Interview panel members and stakeholders

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience supporting senior stakeholders and/or selection panels
  • Strong note-taking, documentation, and reporting skills
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and summarisation capability
  • Ability to capture discussions accurately and objectively in real time
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Experience supporting meetings, panels, or selection processes (desirable)
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically within the Philippines 

 

Remuneration

  • Professional fee to be negotiated upon contracting
  • Travel costs for Davao deployment (flights, accommodation, per diems) will be covered by the program
