Summary

Seeking a full-time Procurement Adviser based in Honiara to start as soon as possible. Solomon Islands – Australia Partnership for Governance commenced in January 2022 and is an AUD $35.8 million dollar investment where Australia partners with the Solomon Islands Government (SIG) to support its critical priorities over four years (current phase ends December 2025).

Description

The Procurement Adviser will focus on improving the technical skills and confidence of officers working in the Ministry of Finance and Treasury (MoFT) - Treasury Procurement Unit (TPU). The role requires a capacity-building approach when working with MoFT counterparts (including members of the Central Tender Board) to evaluate and assess the compliance of government tenders, procurement plans, contracts, and other key documents. The Adviser will also assess and prioritize training and development needs for SIG Procurement Officers and work alongside key stakeholders to implement appropriate professional development responses across the public service. The role requires a good working knowledge of SIG tendering, procurement and contracting processes, as well as a strong interest and commitment to capacity building.
