About the Program 

The Kiribati Climate Resilient Rural Development (KORAKORA) Program is seeking an experienced and motivated Operations & Finance Manager to join our team in Tarawa. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in a major Australian-funded development program delivering climate resilience, food security, water security, and sustainable infrastructure initiatives across Kiribati’s outer islands.

Position Details

  • Location: Tarawa, Kiribati
  • Contract: Full-time, 24 months with potential extension
  • Reports to: Inception Manager
  • Travel: Domestic travel within Kiribati as required
  • Position Status: Open to I-Kiribati applicants 

About the Role

The Operations & Finance Manager will lead and strengthen the program’s operational systems, overseeing:

  • Financial management and budgeting
  • Procurement and logistics
  • Human resources and administration
  • Risk management and compliance
  • Asset, records and information management
  • Safety and security processes

You will work closely with the Team Leader and Program Manager to ensure efficient operations, strong financial oversight, and compliance with donor, organisational, and national requirements. 

We're Looking For Someone Who Has:

  • A degree (or equivalent experience) in Business Administration, Operations Management, Economics, Finance, International Development, Social Sciences, or a related field
  • At least 5 years' experience in a senior operational or finance management role, preferably within donor-funded programs or projects
  • Strong experience in financial management, budgeting, reporting, and compliance
  • Excellent organisational, planning and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and web-based systems
  • Ability to work independently while leading and supporting a diverse team 

Desirable Experience

  • Human resources, procurement, logistics and asset management
  • International and domestic shipping logistics
  • Knowledge of Government of Kiribati regulations and policies
  • Experience leading teams and building strong workplace relationships
