Summary

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Delivery Manager to lead the delivery of infrastructure projects under the Kiribati Australia Infrastructure (Te KAI) Program.

In this role, you will oversee the full lifecycle of infrastructure delivery- from concept and design through to construction, handover and defects liability - ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You will lead a multidisciplinary team and work closely with the Government of Kiribati, contractors and development partners to deliver climate-resilient, inclusive and sustainable infrastructure.

Description

The Kiribati Australia Infrastructure (Te KAI)

The Kiribati Australia Infrastructure (Te KAI) program supports the delivery of small to medium‑scale infrastructure projects across Kiribati. The program partners with the Government of Kiribati and local contractors to deliver high‑quality, purpose‑built and climate‑resilient infrastructure, alongside capacity strengthening for government and the local construction sector.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, design, procurement, implementation and successful delivery of climate-resilient infrastructure projects from concept through to completion.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with government ministries, development partners, local authorities, communities and other key stakeholders to ensure projects are well-consulted, coordinated and aligned with national priorities
  • Lead, mentor and support a multidisciplinary infrastructure team, fostering high performance, professional development, effective project management practices and continuous improvement
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, sustainably and in compliance with program governance requirements, donor expectations, safeguarding standards, quality systems and financial controls
  • Champion inclusive, sustainable and climate-resilient infrastructure approaches while supporting the development of local institutions, government counterparts and the construction sector through mentoring, training and capacity-building initiatives.

About You

  • Degree in civil/structural engineering, construction management, architecture or related field.
  • At least 10 years’ experience delivering or managing infrastructure or construction projects.
  • Strong project management capability including procurement, budgeting and scheduling.
