The Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Officer will be responsible for:
- Support implementation of GBV activities, including coordination with the PLMSP Operations team for logistics and cross-stream alignment.
- Engage and coordinate with key stakeholders (service providers, LSUs, government agencies) to facilitate effective activity delivery.
- Contribute to the development of GBV resources (training packages, guidelines, best practice notes, SOPs) and support culturally appropriate delivery.
- Provide practical support and guidance to LSUs and PLMSP teams to enable consistent, quality GBV activity implementation.
- Support flagship GEDSI team activities as required, aligning GBV work with broader inclusion objectives.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships, ensuring respectful, professional and effective collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Promote an inclusive, equitable and respectful workplace culture, including listening with empathy, valuing diverse perspectives and resolving conflict constructively.
- Ensure compliance with DFAT and program safeguarding policies, including PSEAH, child protection, fraud/anti-corruption and environmental/social safeguards, and escalate concerns appropriately.
We are seeking an individual who:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, such as Social Work, Gender Studies, International Development, Community Development, Anthropology or a related social science field.
- 1–3 years of relevant professional experience, preferably with exposure to the Pacific and/or Timor‑Leste context.
- Sound understanding of gender equality, disability inclusion, social inclusion, human rights and international development, with the ability to apply concepts in practice.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders in cross‑cultural environments.
- Strong liaison and coordination skills, supporting collaboration across teams, partners and service providers.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-based environment.
- Strong written communication skills, including experience in report writing and documentation.
- Experience facilitating training or effectively conveying key messages to varied audiences.
