This Opportunity
The Social Reintegration Manager Brisbane will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of activities in Australia, Pacific Island Countries and Timor-Leste that contribute to sustainable reintegration outcomes for returning PALM workers, their families and communities.
This is a fixed term opportunity required to September 2028
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Pacific, Timor‑Leste and Australian government agencies and labour mobility partners to support sustainable reintegration approaches.
- Lead the design, coordination and delivery of reintegration support — with a strong focus on social reintegration — ensuring activities are country‑appropriate, sustainable, risk‑aware and aligned with national systems.
- Manage and strengthen the Reintegration Community of Practice (CoP), fostering collaboration, sharing of learnings and integration of monitoring and evaluation insights.
- Oversee superannuation support activities, including the Departing Australian Superannuation Payment (DASP) advisory service and related onshore and offshore components.
- Work with the Reintegration team and PLMSP streams to document evidence and learnings, ensuring reintegration activities consider both social and economic impacts and mitigate risks to workers, families and communities.
- Collaborate across WAFA and other PLMSP streams to maintain a holistic understanding of program activities and ensure coordinated, effective reintegration programming.
- Monitor and evaluate reintegration activities to ensure they meet the needs of PALM workers, families and communities and support continuous improvement.
- Build positive, professional relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, contributing to a respectful, collaborative and inclusive work environment.
We are seeking an individual who:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as social impact, human services, migrant resettlement, economic development, or international/community development.
- Minimum seven years’ experience working on relevant programs, ideally involving reintegration, social support, or labour mobility.
- Experience working in the Pacific and/or Timor‑Leste, or similar complex and fast‑paced contexts.
- Strong understanding of labour mobility and reintegration issues, including social and psychosocial challenges faced by workers and families.
- Demonstrated project management capability, including establishing new initiatives, coordinating competing priorities, and delivering high‑quality outputs with strong communication skills.
- Proven leadership and team management experience, with the ability to motivate and support teams working remotely and across varied environments.
- Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, building effective partnerships with government, civil society, private sector and cross‑cultural stakeholders.
- Experience managing budgets and resources to ensure timely and effective implementation of activities.
We are committed to building a diverse, geographically dispersed workforce to maximize our support.
