The Skills & Training Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Provide end-to-end logistics and coordination support for PALM training
- Support diversity and inclusion in training, including provision of additional support to people with disabilities.
- Assist in the design of skills training programs including scoping and needs analysis, procurement, stakeholder consultation, evaluation and contracting.
- Support the logistics of the short-term advisors for Skills and English in Timor Leste.
- Collaborate with training providers, AEs and LSUs to support and monitor worker progress through training.
- Contribute to regular updates on PALM scheme specific training activities to the Government of Timor Leste, PLMSP staff and DFAT.
- Maintain relationships with the Labour Sending Unit, approved employers SEFOPE, bi-lateral programs, community groups, Pacific Australia Skills, and other training providers.
- Work with the PLMSP MERL team and external assessors to collect data on training cohorts and capture lessons learned from PALM scheme specific training.
We are seeking an individual who has:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, such as education and/or training, as well as experience in international development and project management.
- Experience in the coordination of training programs, in an English as a Second Language context.
- Understanding of the Timorese and Australian technical and vocational education systems.
- Experience working with programs in Timor Leste, with a strong understanding of Gender, Equality, Disability & Social Inclusion (GEDSI) concepts and issues.
- A demonstrated ability to build respectful, productive and sustainable working relationships with a variety of stakeholders (including partner government, civil society and the private sector) and working together to achieve results.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with limited supervision, to meet work deadlines, and to balance competing priorities.
- Experience in the delivery and assessment of training would be beneficial.
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite, web browsers, meeting and communication applications and experience with various learning management systems and platforms.
- Flexibility to undertake frequent travel, including after hours and weekends.
