The Opportunity

  • Full-time position until 30 June 2027
  • Location: Port Moresby, PNG
  • Reserved for PNG citizens only

Position Overview:  The Manager, Short Courses will be responsible for managing the planning and implementation of Short Courses in Australia and PNG.As a member of the Management Team (MT), the Manager - Short Courses fosters continuous improvement and innovation, ensures quality delivery, and maximises possible program outcomes for AAPNG.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely and regular contributions around Short Courses implementation to support high quality public diplomacy products for the Australian High Commission in PNG
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of all Short Courses by participating in periodic evaluations and contributing recommendations for innovation.
  • Support the Senior Manager - Short Courses to demonstrate value for money principles, monitor annual budget, track expenditure, and develop monthly forecasts
  • Deliver agreed outputs to the standard required; ensuring quality reports are submitted in a timely manner and meet internal and external requirements
  • Champion GEDSI and Safeguards principles and objectives across all areas of Short Courses
  • Lead by example and contribute to the development of a program culture that adheres to the Tetra Tech Values and Behaviours
  • Other duties from time to time, as may be reasonably requested by DFAT and Tetra Tech


Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • Qualification/s in administration, project management, education or other relevant study area OR equivalent experience in an international development context
  • Experience in managing training or activities involving movement of people
  • Experience managing a diverse team and strong organisation and time management skills
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and report writing skills
  • Experience with developing and managing a budget and forecasting expenditure
  • Strong computer skills using all Microsoft Office 365 applications.

Desirable

  • Experience and understanding of international scholarships and education, including management of academic and welfare issues and continuing professional development.
