Program Background

 

The Australian Government's Economic and Social Infrastructure Program (ESIP) works with partners to deliver economic and social infrastructure that benefits Papua New Guineans. ESIP works across sectors such as energy, telecommunications, health and markets, and supports Papua New Guinea's state-owned enterprise improvement program.

Cross-cutting activities are embedded into all aspects of ESIP’s program delivery. These include gender equity, disability, social inclusion (GEDSI) and safeguards, climate change and disaster resilience, and locally led development.

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to coordinate and supervise the Energy policy portfolio. The Policy Manager will provide efficient and effective program support to the Director of Policy to ensure ESIP involvement in the Energy sector is developed and implemented in a coordinated way, and consistent with Government of Papua New Guinea objectives for Energy (with a focus on Electrification).

About You

Key selection criteria for the potential successful candidate includes, but not limited to:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business management, international development, international relations, Political Science or related fields
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical and demonstrated experience in program, project or business management
  • Has ten years of practical experience is scoping, planning and delivering programs while working closely partners and stakeholders or delivery of an aid program
  • Knowledge and / or experience of applying GEDSI and safeguards principles.
