Australia Awards – South Asia & Mongolia (the Program) is seeking a cost-effective training program for up to 24 participants. This Short Course will be delivered via blended delivery over six months, commencing in June 2025 and completing no later than December 2025.  

This Short Course will bring together senior level public sector executives to build networks and develop strategies to transform public administration in South Asia.  The course will address the following key themes:  

• Developing an impartial, apolitical public service  

• Fostering a sense of integrity and professionalism in public administration, emphasising ethical leadership, transparency, accountability, and professionalism in the delivery of public services  

• Equipping senior officials with an understanding of Australian Public Service (APS) values and leadership practices, helping them understand how the APS manages public service reform, build public trust, and maintain professionalism  

• Promoting women’s leadership in the public service, particularly focusing on strategies and best practices for supporting gender equality and advancing women into leadership positions within the civil service  

The format of the course should be flexible, but it should provide ample opportunities to strengthen recipients’ personal and institutional linkages with the Australian Public Service, whilst sharing information and professional experiences for mutual benefit. Recipients will also be encouraged to establish ‘person-to-person’ linkages with Australian counterparts throughout the course. These professional networks will serve as a basis for ongoing engagement once recipients return to their countries
