Vanuatu-Australia Education Support Program and Australia Awards Vanuatu
The Vanuatu-Australia Education Support Program (VAESP) and Australia Awards Vanuatu (AAV) are funded by the Australian Government’s aid program and implemented in cooperation with the Government of Vanuatu.
VAESP is dedicated to enhancing the quality, accessibility, and management of early education in Vanuatu. We work closely with the Ministry of Education and Training to implement initiatives that promote inclusive education, child-centered approaches, and support for children with disabilities.
Australia Awards Vanuatu Scholarships are prestigious international awards offered by the Australian Government to the next generation of global leaders for development. Through study and research, recipients develop the skills and knowledge to drive change and help build enduring people-to-people links with Australia and the Pacific region.
Key responsibilities
This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of education in Vanuatu through strategic leadership and collaboration. Some key responsibilities include:

Leading the delivery of the program to achieve meaningful education outcomes.

Overseeing program operations, including budgets, reporting and team coordination.

Building strong relationships with all stakeholders to ensure smooth program implementation.

Manage a diverse team to deliver high-quality results while promoting collaboration and inclusion.

Ensure program activities consider gender, disability, and environmental factors to create sustainable and impactful solutions.

Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders to keep everyone informed and aligned.

Selection criteria
We are looking for an experienced and collaborative leader with:

Minimum master’s degree in education or equivalent professional experience.

Extensive experience managing education programs, preferably in developing contexts.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders.

Knowledge of international education frameworks and practices, including pedagogy and teacher training.

Proven ability to manage complex programs, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.

Experience working in resource-constrained and multi-lingual education systems.

Familiarity with DFAT-funded programs and the Pacific region.
