About the Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program
The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme is a signature initiative for the Australian Government that enables workers from 9 Pacific Island Countries (PICs) and Timor- Leste to work in priority sectors in Australia. The Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program’s (PLMSP) role is to provide the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and governments in 9 PICs and Timor-Leste with support to enable workers to access PALM scheme in inclusive ways that maximise the benefits for the workers and national economies while minimising risks from labour mobility participation. Palladium is contracted to deliver PLMSP on behalf of DFAT.

This Opportunity
The PLMSP Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) team will consist of a team of 5 dedicated and passionate GEDSI professionals, based in Australia (Brisbane) and across the Pacific Islands and Timor-Leste. Working closely with the GEDSI Senior Manager, the GEDSI Manager will be responsible for managing Pacific-facing GEDSI team's engagement into the Pacific, providing leadership to geographically dispersed team members. This position can be located anywhere within Australia or one of our 10 Partner countries for a candidate with strong technical, managerial and leadership skills.
This is a fixed term opportunity required for 4 years with possibility of extension.
The GEDSI Manager will:

Develop and implement GEDSI activities that contribute to the objectives and outcomes of the PLMSP GEDSI Strategy.

Implement Labour Sending Unit (LSU)-requested activities including training and workshops, provide advice and support as requested by LSUs.

Ensure GEDSI activities are on track and on-budget.

Coordinate with internal program streams and other relevant stakeholders on GEDSI inputs into LSUs, including identifying opportunities for GEDSI support.

Develop GEDSI-related trainings for LSUs, workers, PLMSP staff and the PALM Learning Platform.

Train, mentor and coach more junior colleagues and provide GEDSI support to other teams in PLMSP, including advice on GEDSI mainstreaming.
We are seeking an individual who will bring:

Strong, professional experience working on GEDSI issues in programs related to international development contexts, preferably in the Pacific.

Demonstrated experience managing teams and working across culturally diverse teams.

Proven success in coordinating program activities in multiple country contexts.

Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders across multiple cross-cultural contexts, with the ability to build partnerships to achieve a common objective.

Strong skills in written communication and report writing.

Demonstrated experience managing budgets and resources to ensure timely implementation of deliverables.
