The Partnerships Platform is seeking an experienced Development Effectiveness Specialist to enhance the program's effectiveness, strategy, and impact. The role requires a skilled leader with a proven ability to engage stakeholders and integrate key cross-cutting issues, such as gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI), localisation and capacity development.
The role will work closely with the Team Leader and a variety of stakeholders to continuously improve program delivery and ensure that strategic goals are met.
The areas of focus of the position are:
- Lead innovative initiatives to assess and improve program effectiveness, feeding results into broader strategic planning.
- Collaborate with the MEL and Communications team to build effective learning systems and enhance knowledge sharing.
- Leverage partnerships, such as with the Pacific Disability Forum, to strengthen program outcomes and support local capacity.
- Integrate lessons learned and best practices into program design and planning processes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Ensure timely, high-quality progress reporting on program achievements, risks and adjustments.
- Drive the implementation of the Capacity Development Framework and Localisation and Sustainability Plan, ensuring long-term program impact.

About the Australia-Pacific Partnerships Platform
The Australia-Pacific Partnerships Platform is an Australian Government initiative funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and managed by DT Global. It provides Pacific Countries with a suite of flexible, fit-for-purpose options that support broad governance and stable development outcomes.
About You
We are looking for a collaborative, adaptive and strategic candidate who can thrive in challenging environments. You will have tertiary qualifications in international development, public policy, social sciences or a related field, along with extensive experience in program management and MEL. You will have a proven track record of driving program outcomes and strategic reporting. Additionally, you possess strong knowledge of GEDSI, capacity development theory, and localisation strategies, as well as hands-on experience in applying these in Pacific contexts. The ability to build and manage relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs and donors, is essential. Experience working in the Pacific region, with an understanding of the local context, challenges, and opportunities to contribute to local development objectives will be highly regarded.
You will be required to demonstrate a strong understanding of and commitment to Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI), child protection and the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH), anti-corruption and other DFAT safeguarding policies.
