The Australia Awards South Asia & Mongolia program is seeking technical proposals from Registered Training Organisations in Australia, or Australian tertiary institutions as defined in the Higher Education Support Act, 2003 Table A, B and C, to design and deliver a Short Course in Bilateral Trade Negotiations (in the context of Bangladesh's graduation from Least Developed Country status) for up to 24 participants from Bangladesh.
This short course will offer a unique opportunity for up to 24 relevant government, academic and private sector leaders of Bangladesh to gain analytical skills and knowledge about trade and investment for economic development with special focus on bilateral trade negotiations. This activity will be the first in a series of Short Courses and Australian Professional Opportunities to build the skills, knowledge, and networks for practitioners working in the trade sector in Bangladesh.
The Short Course will include a combination of interactive panel discussions, virtual and face to face events with experts, and a two-to-three day component in Canberra to engage with DFAT and other Commonwealth Government Agencies.
The course will strengthen participants’ knowledge about significance of improved trade and investment in a country on the path of graduation from Least Developed to Middle-Income country and build their capacity to advocate, negotiate and implement trade related policies, and bilateral agreements with major trading partners.
